Busan
Seoul gets the spotlight, but Busan has something Seoul doesn't — the ocean. Colorful hillside villages tumbling down to the coast, fish markets where the catch is still swimming, temples perched on sea cliffs. It's grittier and more laid-back than the capital, and that's exactly the point.

Busan travel FAQ
How many days do I need in Busan?
2 to 3 days is enough to hit the highlights — Haeundae Beach, Gamcheon Culture Village, Jagalchi Market, and the sea temple. If you're combining with Seoul, most people take the KTX (fast train, about 2.5 hours) and spend 2 full days here.
What seafood should I try in Busan?
Jagalchi Market is the place. Go to the second floor and pick your fish — they'll cook it for you on the spot. Dwaeji gukbap (pork rice soup) is Busan's signature comfort food. Try raw fish (hoe) at Gwangalli, milmyeon (cold wheat noodles) in summer, and ssiat hotteok (seed-filled pancakes) at BIFF Square.
How do I get from Seoul to Busan?
The KTX high-speed train is the best option — about 2.5 hours from Seoul Station to Busan Station, and tickets cost around $40-50. Trains run frequently throughout the day. You can also fly (about 1 hour) but by the time you factor in airport time, the train is usually faster door-to-door.
