Prague

A city that looks like it was drawn by hand. Gothic spires, baroque facades, a river with swans — Prague feels like a fairy tale that people actually live in. But it's not a museum. Dive into the side streets and you'll find jazz clubs, craft beer bars, and bookshops that have been open for a hundred years.

Prague travel FAQ

How many days do I need in Prague?

2 to 3 days covers the highlights well. Prague is walkable and the main sights — Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town — cluster together. But give yourself at least one evening just to wander and stumble into a beer hall. Add a day for a Kutná Hora or Český Krumlov day trip.

Is Prague cheap to visit?

One of the best deals in Europe. A half-liter of excellent Czech beer costs about $2 in a local pub. Full restaurant meals run $8-15. The catch: tourist-heavy zones around Old Town Square charge double. Walk two blocks away and prices drop dramatically.

What's the beer culture like in Prague?

Czechs drink more beer per capita than anyone else in the world, and Prague is where you understand why. Pilsner Urquell was born here. Skip the tourist pubs and find a local hospoda — order a Kozel or Budvar, sit with the regulars, and you'll be on your third before you realize it. Craft beer has also exploded in recent years.
